In the wake of Hurricane Helene, the communities of Tampa and Clearwater are working hard to recover and rebuild. There are many ways you can lend a hand to help those impacted by the storm, whether it’s volunteering your time, donating resources, or supporting local businesses.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Join Feeding Tampa Bay’s Emergency Response Volunteer Team
Feeding Tampa Bay works directly with local emergency operations centers to distribute food, hygiene products, and water to those in need. Whether you can volunteer your time or make a donation, you can be part of their critical response efforts. Visit Feeding Tampa Bay Disaster Response to sign up or donate.
Support Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay
Rebuilding Together is focused on immediate and long-term recovery efforts. They’ve been on the ground helping cover homes with tarps and assembling hurricane relief kits. If you’re looking for a way to roll up your sleeves and help, or if you’d like to donate, visit Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay.
Volunteer with World Central Kitchen
Chef José Andrés’ nonprofit, World Central Kitchen, is known for mobilizing quickly after disasters, providing meals to communities in need. They’re serving free meals across Florida. You can volunteer to help prepare meals or donate to their cause by visiting World Central Kitchen.
Lend a Hand to Operation BBQ Relief
Operation BBQ Relief sets up mobile kitchens to provide hot meals to first responders and those affected by natural disasters. They’re currently serving meals around the St. Petersburg area. You can get involved by volunteering or donating at Operation BBQ Relief.
